Roles & Responsibilities:
- Animal Care: Consistently monitor the health and well-being of animals, ensuring they are treated with compassion and respect. Address any health concerns promptly with the Kennel Manager.
- Cleanliness: Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness in kennels and throughout our facility, including sterilizing food and water bowls, laundering towels and blankets, and adhering to strict cleaning guidelines.
- Grooming and Feeding: Assist with grooming tasks as required and ensure animals are fed according to their specific dietary needs.
- Exercise: Provide animals with regular yard time, ensuring they get the physical activity they need.
- Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly with other staff members and volunteers. Handle animals safely, especially when moving them within the rescue.
- Customer Service: Act as a representative of our commitment to the community by providing top-notch service to all visitors.
- Supplies and Upkeep: Monitor and restock supplies as necessary. Assist in maintaining both the interior and exterior of the facility.
- Flexibility: Be available to fill in for other areas when needed and assist during special events.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Animal Handling: Ability to handle and restrain animals with care and confidence.
- Grooming Knowledge: Familiarity with basic grooming practices.
- Efficient Cleaning: Proficiency in using cleaning materials and equipment to maintain hygiene standards.
- Physical Stamina: Capability to perform tasks that require moderate physical labor.
- Team Player: Collaborative mindset to work courteously with colleagues and volunteers.
- Customer Service: Strong communication skills to interact positively with visitors.
