The Diabetic Puppy Who Defied Odds

Diabetic and Determined: Triceratops Finds Her Person

We are thrilled to share one of the happiest updates we’ve had in a while — Triceratops has officially been adopted!

If you’ve been following her journey, you know this sweet girl has been through so much in her short life. Diagnosed with diabetes at just a few months old, Triceratops faced a very uncertain future. Puppy diabetes is rare, and it can be incredibly difficult to manage … especially while a young dog is still growing, developing, and trying to enjoy the simple joys of being a puppy.

For months, her incredible foster family worked tirelessly to monitor her blood sugar, try different types and doses of insulin, and bring her to regular vet appointments. There were moments when we feared the worst — when her weight dropped, when she wasn’t responding to treatment, when her energy was low. We didn’t know if she would have the quality of life she deserved.

But then… something clicked.

Once she was placed on the right medication and dosage, Triceratops began to thrive. She started gaining weight, playing, showing her personality, and finally living like a happy, healthy pup. We watched her transform from a fragile little puppy into a strong, confident girl who was ready to take on the world.

And now, she has a home of her very own!

A Special Kind of Love

Adopting a diabetic dog is no small commitment. It means daily injections, lifelong medication, routine vet visits, and a high level of attention and care. It takes a special kind of person to say yes to a dog with medical needs — and Triceratops’ new mom is exactly that. She is a true animal lover with a heart full of compassion, and we could not have dreamed up a more perfect match.

We are so excited to see what the future holds for Triceratops in her new home, and we’ll be cheering her on every step of the way.

Why Triceratop's Story Matters

Triceratops was a puppy with a big diagnosis.

She needed months of care.
She needed the right medication.
She needed a foster family who would show up every single day.

And she got all of that — and more.

Today, she’s living her best life in her forever home, thanks to the people who refused to give up on her. From the donors who helped cover her vet bills to the foster parents who lovingly gave her daily injections… it took a village.

Triceratops was worth it.
They all are.

No animal should ever die from something that’s treatable.
