Meet and Greets

in Sedalia, CO

Can’t make one of our adoption events? No problem!

We offer scheduled meet-and-greets at our rescue facility in Sedalia, Colorado for approved adoption applicants. If you’ve fallen in love with a specific dog or cat and would like to meet them, we’d be happy to coordinate a visit.

Meet-and-greets are scheduled by appointment and allow you to spend one-on-one time with the animal you’re interested in while chatting with our adoption team.

To schedule a meet-and-greet:

  • Complete an adoption application (if you haven’t already).
  • Once approved, email adopt@4p4l.org to coordinate a convenient date and time.

We look forward to helping you find the perfect addition to your family!

How Meet & Greets Work

Step 1:

Fill out our online adoption application for the animal(s) you’re interested in. Once we receive your application, our adoptions team will review it and notify you if it’s a good fit.

Step 2:

Once approved, feel free to reach out to adopt@4p4l.org to schedule a meet and greet.

Step 3:

If it’s a perfect match at your meet and greet, our adoption team will review medical records, go over paperwork, and help finalize the adoption – so you can take home your new best friend that day!

Please note that an application is required for adoption. Online applications are valid for 6 months.

If you have specific questions, please feel free to email us at adopt@4p4l.org.

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We’re here to help.

Great question! The adoption fee isn’t about placing a value on a rescued animal. Rather, the fee helps us cover essential costs associated with each animal’s care. Your fee directly supports the well-being of our animals and allows us to rescue and care for more in need.

Adoption fees include the dog being up to date on age appropriate vaccines, spayed/neutered, microchipped, an offer for a week of free virtual training, and an offer of 30 days free of pet insurance.

Unfortunately, we cannot hold dogs. We operate on a first come, first serve basis. If you are interested in a dog, fill out the application right away. If we are having an adoption event, we recommend arriving early.

We receive a high number of emails daily and do our best to respond to them as quickly as we can. Our adoption team will be in touch as soon as possible. Typically within 1-3 business days.

Our mission is to save animals from a life of abuse, neglect and death in kill shelters and commercial breeding facilities, and find homes for them with loving humans that will add value to their lives.

Unfortunately, many dogs that we save entered the shelter as strays or were surrendered by their owners with little or no information. We do our best to include any information about their history in their profile if it is known.

We currently do not provide pet transport services. We require the adopter to arrange for in-state pickup at our facility or at one of our adoption events.

We do everything we can to set both you and your new pet up for success. If you run into any challenges, please reach out to our team—we’re here to help! Whether it’s training tips, behavioral support, or guidance on adjusting, we want to work with you to make the transition as smooth as possible.

That said, we understand that sometimes, despite best efforts, things don’t work out. As a last resort, we will take back animals to ensure they are placed in the best possible home. Please contact us first so we can discuss next steps and explore any solutions before making that decision.

Yes! We want to ensure you and your pet have the best start together. Inside your adoption bag, you’ll find details on:
