About 4P4L

4P4L Pet Rescue in Sedalia, CO is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue.  The 4P4L Team rescues abandoned pets in high-kill shelters throughout the United States.  Hence, we help our animals to find adopters that will provide loving homes.  Our adopters and donors help us to give a voice to abandoned, orphaned, abused, and forgotten animals.  Working together, we make a difference in the states of Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arkansas.

Shelters across the country house approximately eight million companion animals each year.  Yet, nearly 50% of them are euthanized due to the shelter’s lack of resources.

Therefore, we have focused our operations around committed volunteers who support our primary objective.  Our objective is to save companion animals from Death Row (euthanasia at high-kill shelters) and place them in loving homes.

Our mission is to show grace and mercy to the animals entrusted into our care

and to find them families that will do the same.

Our Team

Our Team works tirelessly to help those animals in danger of euthanasia in high-kill shelters across the country.  We are thankful for the opportunity.

Since 2012, 4P4L has been able to rescue over 13,000 animals from high-kill shelters around the country.  The cost to vaccinate, medicate, transport, feed, and house these animals is quite large.  But, with the help of our adopters, our donors, sponsors and our partners, we have been successful in our efforts.  Please see a list of our amazing sponsors and partners below.  Thank you, we couldn’t do it without you!

We welcome all donations directly given to our organization here.  Or, we gladly support donations to any of our like-minded corporate sponsors below.

CeeCee is the inspiration behind 4 Paws 4 Life Rescue.

What is the inspiration for the founding of 4 Paws 4 Life?   CeeCee is the inspiration behind 4 Paws 4 Life Rescue.  One day I took a trip to a local animal shelter in Atlanta, Georgia.  As I walked past the many dogs on death row, I spotted a beautiful Dalmatian.  She caught my attention because she actually ‘smiled’ at me.  Most people would have thought she was bearing her teeth in anger but she was wagging her tail excitedly.

About UsThis particular shelter euthanized dogs after 10 days if not adopted so I was not leaving without my new found friend, CeeCee.  She came home with me and lived with me for ten happy years!  CeeCee loved hiking in the mountains and playing with the other dogs and most of all, she loved following her person – me, all over the house. She loved being with me as much as she possible and knew I was the one that rescued her.  To this day she remains my “Guardian Angel” and our inspiration.   CeeCee was the most loyal, loving, beautiful Dalmatian that I have ever met and I never understood why someone abandoned such a sweet loving dog.

CeeCee is a great example of how a shelter dog can enhance a person’s life and make a great loving family member.  She instinctively knew if I was happy or sad and was right by my side through it all.  Through the years,  I have often wondered what would have happened to her if I had not adopted CeeCee from the shelter that day.

My experience with CeeCee compelled me to help other shelter dogs.  A few years ago, I started volunteering and learning how to rescue dogs from death-row shelters.  In 2012, with the help of four amazing women we started “4 Paws 4 Life Rescue” in honor of CeeCee.   As educated professionals we attend yearly animal welfare conferences to improve our efforts.  CeeCee is our mascot and her memory still influences decisions we make for the animals in our care.
